5 Questions with a C5er: Katie Rogers

Our Column Five team is made up of some very unique people, coming from all walks of life. They’re creative, well-rounded, and work extremely hard. Each week, we profile one fascinating staff member to introduce you to the people behind the scenes of our work.

Tell us briefly about yourself.

I’m Katie! The first girl born in the Rogers family in 72 years. Lover of hiking, trees, travel, nourishing food, live music, and swimming in the ocean. Before Column Five, I worked as an archaeologist in northern Chile. In my past life, I was probably a hippie and/or a mermaid.

What’s your favorite thing on your desk at work?

My rainbow generator! It was gifted to me by last week’s featured Column-Fiver, Kaede Holland. You press a button, and a rainbow is projected for 10 minutes. Who isn’t happy about rainbows?!

What location is at the top of your travel list?

Speaking of happy, it’s Bhutan. There are a lot of places tied for the #1 place I want to visit, but I’m really intrigued by this country that measures its success by Gross National Happiness (GNH) instead of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever seen, done, or experienced?

Paragliding off the Swiss Alps (I think it’s the closest a human can come to feeling like a bird). Seeing a bald eagle and an orca in the same morning, on a sailing trip in the Pacific Northwest. Kayaking inside one of the world’s largest sea caves (located on Santa Rosa island off the coast of California and named “Painted Cave” for its super-colorful rocks, flowers, and algae).

What’s your favorite thing about working at C5?

I love Salad Wednesdays, face-painting birthdays, our annual holiday/karaoke/dance party, the office juicer… But mostly, I love our really cool clients and the incredible creative collaboration that happens here every day.

We asked Katie to share some of her favorite C5 projects with you, and here’s what she chose.
