The team here at Column Five is made up of some very special people. They come from all walks of life; they’re creative; and they work very hard. They’re also very interesting. One staff member a week will be profiled on our blog, from our oldest project manager to our newest designer, to introduce the people behind the infographics.

In 144 characters or less, describe yourself.
I’m just a regular dude who loves Jesus, people, playing music, surfing, beer, coffee, and the San Francisco Giants.
What are some of the bands on your work playlist right now?
The Walkmen, Beach House, AA Bondy, Alabama Shakes. I like to listen to music that I’m already familiar with while I’m working because if I throw on a new record, 99% of my brain power will be used to listen to and analyze the music. Ultimately I want something that is upbeat (nothing ambient or droning) and that I can listen to over and over without getting sick of it.
What's the coolest thing you've ever done?
My whole life is the coolest thing I’ve ever done. But one of the highlights involved a midnight to 2:30 AM full moon night surfing session at Rincon, a perfect wave spot on the Santa Barbara and Ventura county line. It was red tide so every time you paddled it looked like you were sprinkling green fairy dust into the ocean. I still wonder sometimes if it was a dream.
What's your favorite thing about working for Column Five?
The unique family-like culture: everyone seems to get along and there is no drama. In my experience, this is uncommon in the workplace. The C5 culture is either a stroke of genius on the part of the founders, or some freaky chance phenomenon. I like to think it’s a lot of both.
If you could give yourself a nickname, what would it be?
Colin The Shots.
We asked Colin to feature some of his favorite work from over the years. These were just a few of them:
udemy – Start Up Ecosystem: Predator vs. Prey
GOOD – Funding the Final Frontier
Mint - Gas Guzzlers — Where Are Mint Users Spending The Most Of Fuel?

Flowtown – The Joy of Social Media
